Pictures of Lanzarote Biosphere
Lanzarote is the closest Canary Island to Africa, situated about 100 miles off the coast level with the southern border of Morocco. It lies between La Graciosa and Fuerteventura. It is volcanic, about 20 million years old and has a Saharan climate, with little rainfall and a summer all year climate. The island is easy to reach, with flights from major northern airports in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain.
